Fresh start for Carven Automne-Hiver 2015-16 Day 3 Paris Fashion Week 05.03.2015

As always taking the side of being, with the one, who have the courage to put  there, pieces of clothes, that will become timeless,Carven maybe is not the most commercially successful brand, but is for sure, one of the best out there. Their heritage, plus the always fresh ideas, making of them, a very dignify and modern brand, who is here, to make beautiful clothes. Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud have been named the new artistic directors of the women’s collection. Alexis Martial was the creative director of Iceberg, and previously was working as a knitwear designer wear at Givenchy with Riccardo Tisci;as Caillaudaud, who also comes from Givenchy, where he worked on shoes and accessories. They present today their debut collection for Carven. This is second big debut, after yesterday’s Adam Andrascik `s for Guy Laroche .The expectations are always high, and the excitement from the new designs in an established brand like Carven for sure a big step, and it must be taken with great respect, with putting out there, an collection which will be enough good to support their roles.
So,as the show start, it was more than clear, that there will be big changes, and even think, what is nice, still something, makes me sad, that it will not going to be much of the old Carven.
Sheer lace white shirts ,Classy coats, fall palete, excelant tailoring, floral prints, clean and sophisticated lines, interesting cutting the cocktail dresses in 50s manner ,all very up to date and commercial, must say. The most vivid piece in the collection was the metallic sun or circle, how you like, made as a necklace, styled with almost every outfit. It was very young, mostly casual, sport pieces, fur collar coats (a bit trend for next fall, as seen quite a lot), than blue floral prints, different kind of shoes for every outfit, and fresh vision of the brand, as the orange and the yellow which it symbolize the Sun, or the black miniskirts. Slim trousers with high waist, leather, turtlenecks, and tweed skirt suit,
Cashmere sweathers, more floral printed shoes, and floral pants suits, lot of black, Spanish influence flamenco skirts, dresses and tops, and lot of tiny belts upon the waist.
Very fresh, modern take on Carven, but I`m not sure it was really good collection. I think it will take more time to the duo, to make an complete collection, even this look, very present, but still not sure that it has to be all a new mark from them, as I`m always on keeping the heritage of the house, or make something better, a new classic, which in this case, is only a fresh beginning, with a lot of good points, and not a whole story to tell.
