Bora Aksu Spring-Summer 2014

BORA AKSU marked his ten-year fashion anniversary today with a nostalgic nod to his Turkish roots, drawing on his childhood memories of long hot summer days spent on the Aegean coast. He turned them into a sunny wardrobe of short dirndl skirts and shapely-shouldered tops and blouses and went homespun and traditional for lace and crochet trims and sweet little collars in china blue, daffodil yellow and shocking pink. Where in the past his imagination might have got the better of him, it was his own reality here that made this a more focused and commercial offering. And what better birthday present could there be for a designer than opening London Fashion Week?
