The totem dresses of VIKTOR&ROLF Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2016/17

Tribal and cubism is the theme of this Victor & Rolf collection.All in white,huge totems,masks,with cubistic faces,cut up and made in a form of dresses,with great control of the shape and perfect tailoring,wich become an artist canvas,transfomed in a piece of fashion.The House logo appear on the white canvas(in black),looking like a perfect signature in wax.Grand and never seen before on the runway sculptures of fabric(the trade mark of the house),were one of my personal highlights at this Haute Couture Week.

Deconstranction of the shapes at MAISON MARGIELA Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2016-17

Isn`t this the biggest duel between the old Margiela and John,seen till now since Galiano step into the hause og Margiela?
The clean conceptual white,with all the perfect tailoring,was a a great start for the imagination of Galliano and his style of design,wich is rebelios and full with drama.From army and safari,to plissee and shiny dresses,the clothes speak for themself.It`s all possible in Galliano`s world,with a freedom,wich is completely seen in this collection,especially in the constractions of the dresses(one worn with bomber jacket),or patchwork,even a black sheer fluidnes over a white coat.The fairy elements are present too,as a print,made up in coat of a piece of fabric worn over a one sholder white coat.To complete the whole picture of this concept,here was the hair styles in tribal,punk and 70`s glam,in all shapes and colors,as well the make up and specialy the boots(from snake skin to glitter one).
Who won in the end is not completely clear,but one is sure,Galliano,give the whole of him in this collection!
